Another shot of the beautiful Autumn colors in Oregon this time of year. I love exploring the many remote places in the beautiful Pacific Northwest.

I had the pleasure of going up to the Silcox Hut above Timberline Lodge last weekend and although the weather was pretty bad to start with, it cleared up nicely as the evening went on and made for a very beautiful night. I was able to capture the mountain and the hut in two very different ways and am very happy with how they both turned out. Riding up the mountain on the snow cat was also a cool experience!
I love this time of year and all of the colorful trees. It is such a magical and tranquil experience.
Having so many beautiful waterfalls nearby is so nice. I always love getting out to the Gorge and taking advantage of the many awesome trails.
I had a unique opportunity recently to visit a house that had an absolute amazing view of downtown Portland and Mt St Helen's in the distance. It was awesome getting to see a view of the city that I have never really seen before!
I finally was able to make it up to Sherrad Point on my 3rd attempt recently. It was definitely worth the continued attempts. The view of Mt Hood was great and it was at a high enough elevation to cut out the light pollution from Portland.

I wish this was the view I got to wake up to everyday. Shot from the second story of the Oak Alley Plantation.
On an endless quest to go through my old pictures, I stumbled upon a cool picture taken just east of Portland, Oregon from the Vista House of a shooting star above the Columbia River Gorge from a few months ago. The lights glowing in the distance are from the Bonneville Dam. I love being able to get to some nice dark sky so easily! To bad we have so many cloudy nights in the Pacific Northwest. This weekend I went camping at Detroit Lake, Oregon and was able to try out my new 5d mark III shooting the stars. Unfortunately the moon was out and made shooting most of the sky pretty difficult. I was still able to get a cool shot of a campfire lighting up the trees under the big dipper though. I can't wait to really put this camera to the test shooting some new star pictures. Check back soon for more star pictures! In the meantime feel free to check out my other nighttime star pictures
This past weekend I was able to finally check out my brother’s awesome garden down in Sacramento. He, with some help from my niece and nephews, has an amazing garden going. Seeing how happy his kids were while helping out in the garden was awesome. It was awesome getting to see what he was doing as I am currently on my own quest to grow my own groceries. I definitely am going to add a vertical strawberry tower in my garden. It is so easy and cheap, and takes up so little room it is perfect for me! He’s so good at backyard organic gardening, he has started to help other people setup their own gardens too. If you want to grow your own groceries, I definitely recommend checking him out!
Here’s a couple of my favorites! If you want to see any more, check out the gallery of the rest of them!
